The Dynamic Duo

Spotted Leo DiCaprio and best bud Tobey Maguire in Sydney, Australia working side by side on Baz Luhrmann's most awaited production yet: The Great Gatsby Remake!
Originally directed by Jack Clayton and screenplay by Francis Ford Coppola, The Great Gatsby was based on the book of the same title by F. Scott Fitzgerald that talks about "The American Dream".
Of course, Leonardo DiCaprio had to interpret the part of hunky mysterious millionaire, Jay Gatsby and what is really ironic is Maguire's role in the movie as Nick Carraway --- a newcomer to North Shore, Long Island who is Gatsby's neighbor and quickly forms a friendship with the multi-millionaire.
To complete the cast, british actress Carrey Mulligan was chosen out of all young ladies concurring for the character of Daisy Buchanan, DiCaprio's character's love interest.
Although the motion picture has not released a theatrical poster yet, it is said to be in theaters by November 2012.
From what I see and know, I'm expecting this movie to be pretty amazing since it consists of an ASTONISHING cast (Leo DiCaprio *sigh*) a FANTASTIC director and an interesting plot that will revive the classic story of F. Scott Fitzgerald back from 1925 to the 20th Century!

Here are a few pics from the set in Sydney, Australia:

"They look like white Rubik's cubes or something"

If you are a huge Spielberg fan, then I'm mostly sure you didn't miss this flick when it was out at the movies! Unlike most stories, Super 8 is a movie combined with many cinematographic elements such as surprising special effects and a witty script that once both of them are combined, the viewer will come out of the theater with a guaranteed "WOW" on his face!
With the title based on the motion picture film format of the same name, the movie tells the story of a group of kids whom attempt to film their own Super 8 movie. However, when a train derails from it's track whilst the children were filming, an atmosphere of unpleasantness creeps up to the innocent town of Lillian, Ohio accompanied by many unsolved mysteries and awkward supernatural events that will sure make your spine shiver.
Besides the components I have already mentioned previously about this movie, I thought that the character development was very well compacted (the children, in particular). I have also noticed that JJ Abrams also adds a few techniques in this movie that Spielberg does to his. For example, in Super 8, the creature causing a calamity in the town is not shown fully at first. However, as the story uncurls, the creature is shown in "bits" until the very end of the movie when it is finally exposed to the audience his appearance. This technique was the same one Spielberg has used in Jaws and it is a great form of adding suspense to the audience since they have no clue of what the creature looks like and keep on wondering from the beginning until the end of the film when he is finally revealed to the public. The movie also has a diverse amount of genres in it which is good because it doesn't only focus on one point throughout the entire story.
In an overall, Super 8 was worth my money and if you haven't watched it yet, you should try renting it that I'm sure you won't regret it! It is a movie you could basically watch with anyone you like since the film consists of a variety of comedy, romance, suspense, friendship, family relationships and most importantly, ADVENTURE! At first I was thinking twice of whether I should watch this or not, but my step brother was pretty convincing when he told me I should watch this. All I can say that thanks to him, this has become one of my favorite movies of all time!
